    The Boys of '85

    Sunday October 2nd 2011, 2pm

...Sixteen eighty-five, that is. All the composers featured in this concert were born in the same year, but you will hear how each one developed very individual musical tastes as he grew up. On the program are sonatas for violin and harpsichord by J.S. Bach and G.F. Handel, a harpsichord sonata by Domenico Scarlatti, and arrangements of songs from John Gay's popular satire "The Beggar's Opera".

    Chicken-clock

    For the Birds

    Sunday February 26th 2012, 2pm

Doves, nightingales, cuckoos, chickens - birds inspired composers to write some charming music! A musical aviary for violin and harpsichord by Biber, Couperin, Rameau, Schmelzer, and even a certain Mister Finch. A sort of midwinter pick-me-up concert, and most definitely not just for the birds, but for music lovers too!

    St-Gervais

    The Couperin Dynasty

    Sunday May 6th 2012, 2pm

The Couperin family is in many ways synonymous with French baroque music. For nearly 200 years, Couperins were the main musicians at the French court and occupied the organ console at St. Gervais in Paris. We will hear music by Louis, founder of the 17th Century French harpsichord school; François, nicknamed 'Le Grand' for his enormous contribution to music in France; and Louis-Armand, lauded by Charles Burney as one of the best organists of the 18th century.
